LiveConnections just turned 5. To celebrate, we polled our partner schools to find out their TOP 5 favorite things about Bridge Sessions.

Their responses are making us blush.

TOP 5: Teachers' favorite things about Bridge Sessions

From Brian Brecher at Freire Charter School

  1. At a world class venue
  2. Legit musicians
  3. Interactive (students get to participate and create)
  4. Music is international and multicultural (it opens the door to different and most likely undiscovered worlds for the kids)
  5. Promotes inclusion, diversity and community

From Adrienne Horowitz at Greenfield Elementary School

  1. Entertaining performers
  2. Informative lessons
  3. Cool instruments
  4. Audience participation
  5. A fun time was had by all

From Erina Pearlstein at Olney Charter High School

  1. We got to see instruments we had never heard of before.
  2. We got to see someone other than our music teacher perform live.
  3. We got free soft pretzels.
  4. My students were given an amazing concert made fun by a diverse group of musical professionals who looked and talked like them. This made them feel more included in the experience.
  5. My students were able to have a rich musical experience that activated their prior knowledge and encouraged many of them to look up videos online afterwords and do their own research about world percussion music.
