LiveConnections just turned 5. To celebrate, we polled our partner schools to find out their TOP 5 favorite things about Bridge Sessions.

The soft pretzels are clearly a hit.


TOP 5: Students' favorite things about Bridge Sessions


From 3rd graders at Greenfield Elementary

  1. Getting to go on stage
  2. Listening to music that is not on the radio
  3. Learning new instruments
  4. Getting pretzels at the end
  5. When people are being funny

From 5th graders at Grover Washington Jr. Middle School

  1. Drum, saxophone, violin and trumpet performances
  2. Information provided by the performers about the instruments
  3. Listening to the performers play popular songs
  4. Teacher and student participation in the show
  5. Pretzels at the end of show!

From 8th graders at Christopher Columbus Charter School

  1. Being invited by the performers to participate by playing the instruments and improvising/composing
  2. Having performers and hosts who made the show lively and made us laugh. We all felt welcome; there was no pretense.
  3. Seeing talented musicians who could do hand movements that were fast and complicated!
  4. Expanding outside our own country to learn about instruments and music from other cultures like Brazil and West Africa
  5. Learning about the musicians

400+ Philly Kids to Rock Out for All-Day World Cafe Live Festival

January 8, 2018 — On Sunday, February 25, over 400 Philly-area kids will take to the stage at World Cafe Live for an all-day rock concert. The February event is the inaugural Kids Rock Philly: A Benefit For LiveConnections where kids from five regional Schools of Rock will perform in a six hour festival-style concert across both stages at World Cafe Live.

LiveConnections Wins 2018-2019 Barra Award for Exemplary Nonprofits in the Greater Philadelphia Region

December 5, 2017 — The Barra Foundation has announced that LiveConnections is a recipient of a 2018-2019 Barra Award. LiveConnections joins 43 exceptional nonprofit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia region that will each receive $50,000 in grant funding. Barra Awardees are nominated by their peers in the social sector and are then invited to submit an application to the Foundation.
